Six Months!

When Julia was born, we were gifted an adorable tutu, hairband and bracelet...but we already had her newborn pictures taken.  So I've been saving them, and decided to try the ensemble on last week, and realized it is a bit too tight!  She's now sitting and I thought it would  make for some good pictures.  As you can see, it was a challenge to keep Julia's fingers out of her mouth; so while she had some really cute smiling pictures, I had to choose one of the "finger" ones for her official 6 month picture.

In the past few weeks, she has mastered sitting as well as moving/scooting forward!  She can cross the whole room if she sees something that she wants (usually, my phone or one of the boy's toys).  She also can almost go from her tummy back to sitting by twisting sideways.

We haven't really started foods (honestly I can't bear the thought of adding one more thing into the schedule) but we gave her mashed up avocado last week (not a huge fan), chunks of banana a few days ago (not sure what to think) and peas last night (enjoyed pushing them around her plate but couldn't keep them in her mouth).  Also we tried a little oatmeal but she didn't like it, I'll make it with milk instead of water next time.

I love watching the boys interact with her.  I love watching her play and reach out for things.  She is such a joy, almost always smiling and usually cooing and laughing right along with the boys.  I'm not sure I'm ready for her to be fully mobile!!!

Four months old!

Our beautiful baby girl is four months old already.  Several weeks ago she started sleeping 12+ hours at night, sometimes I even have to wake her in the morning to take Charlie to school!  She wakes and coos by herself until we go get her.  Last night was her first night downstairs in her big crib (she has been in the back of my closet, in the pack-n-play) and she did great, although I might have shed a tear to have her so far away :)  At the doctor's on Friday, she weighed 13lbs12oz, of which I'm sure 6 or 7oz was her cloth diaper :)  And she's 95th percentile in length--such a big girl!

20 Months? Where does the time go...

Where does the time go...Charlie went for his 20 month check-up on Friday; probably the first appointment we've been to where he didn't have to get shots! (And he's done till Kindergarden!)

Super healthy as we already knew... 26 lbs (50th percentile) and just shy of 34 inches (75th percentile) so despite his blocky build he's still "light" for his heigh, ha. Charlie was a champ and only freaked a little when the doc looked in his ears.

Lately he's really started to string words together, often 2 or 3 at a time, and repeats everything we say (umm, everything...we're in the "watch what you say" phase). He LOVES the Christmas "yights" and runs out every morning to see the tree with a big "WOW!!!". He knows 7-8 shapes (including octagon??) and probably that many colors too. And he's still *bilingual* although he favors English more when speaking (but I could go the whole day talking in French to him and he would understand). Also when I speak in French he often repeats me, but in English.

We have a fun few weeks ahead of us, with Breakfast with Santa (through Scott's work) this Saturday, our Baker family Christmas the following weekend, and then Scott's parents coming in town for Christmas--the time is going to fly!

Oh, and Scott worked really hard on the basement playroom this weekend; we had a closet built last week and then Scott painted...Lowe's will come to install new carpet this week and it'll be move in ready! It'll be so nice to have a place to hide all the clutter :) Before and after pictures to come.
