If you give a Moose a Muffin...

he'll want to stay for breakfast.

One morning we saw 2 moose just grazing in the woods right across the street from my parents.  We didn't have the zoom lens accessible, but I managed to zoom in a bit with Photoshop :)

Such beautiful animals!!!

Until next year, Winter Park!  Thanks for the fun trip!

Campfire time

I just realized today, when I turned on my camera to upload pictures, that I never finished my Colorado posts...oops.  Time flies around here (and I get lazy).
Once our friends left, my parents and grandma drove out to join us.  We learned that the fire ban (on personal fires) had been lifted so we had to make use of the fire pit!
Scott and I actually got a picture together...happens maybe once a year :)
 Charlie and his "cave"
I had to include this picture of my grandma (aka "gigi") in hopes that some day I will guilt her into smiling in a picture.  Until then, I'll keep blackmailing with all the bad ones :)

Hiking Strawberry Creek

The day the Sweazy's went home, we decided to hike Strawberry Creek.  I knew I had hiked it before, but didn't remember it well.  Unfortunately this area was hit hard by the pine beetles (see all the dead trees in the pictures?) and hasn't regenerated much yet...

I couldn't resist the pic of Charlie...

  My cuties on the trail
Charlie tickling Sam in attempts to win a smile
Enjoying our snack alongside the creek
Pine beetle trees...it was still beautiful!

I think we have the same face here :)
Throwing rocks in the creek...by far the highlight of the trip!

Devil's Thumb Ranch

One night we decided to take the kids to dinner at Devil's Thumb Ranch.  Seeing as we had 4 small children, we made a reservation at 5:30pm as to avoid the true "dinner crowd" (it's a pretty nice restaurant).  We lucked out, as they had happy hour until 6pm: half price appetizers and 16 ounce draft (local!) beers for $1!  Obviously, I didn't get to enjoy the beer, but Scott and Devin made up for it :)

After enjoying a delicious meal, we went out behind the restaurant to partake in (free) s'mores and enjoy the atmosphere.  The rain stayed away and we had a fantastic time!  True Colorado living.

The kids ran out to check out the horses and cows in the fields...
 I just had to capture Sam's s'mores face...and Scott's beer face!

Several attempts at family pictures...can you believe my belly at only 20 weeks?

Just had to include it...parents attempts to make kids smile!
The little ones attempting to play volleyball

The only pic with all 4 looking at the camera!

  Feeding the cow

Back for round 2 of s'mores before heading home...unusual treat at our house!

Fantastic evening!
