Random photo flashback

I just found a USB disk that had some random pictures from last year on it; it must be my dad's because I've never seen these pictures before!  Just had to post (also, because I haven't taken many pictures lately...so I don't have anything to update on the blog!)

Boy, so cliche, but time really does fly!  I can't believe how much they've grown...

27.5 weeks

Because I capture these pics when I can, ha...I snapped this one in our mirror upstairs, tonight.  I'm 27w3days.  I wanted to compare it with my 28 week picture from Sam...hard to tell whether I'm bigger or not!  And here's my 28 week with Charlie, I'm definitely bigger than that one :)

Wordy Wednesday

We've had a lot going on at our house lately and I feel like I need a "Wordy Wednesday" to catch up :)

A few weeks ago, I decided it was finally time to cut Sam's hair (at 19 months).  Unfortunately, I didn't take a "before" picture, but here's the aftermath.  Sam enjoyed his first sucker as bribery to keep him (relatively) still and he did a pretty good job!
Sam has been growing like crazy lately...mentally more than physically!  I almost can't even keep up with him.  His vocab increases daily and now he's piecing 2 and 3 words together... "byebye big truck!"  "mama blue shirt", etc.  We're working on colors, his favorite is blue and that's usually his answer when you ask the color of something.  He imitates Charlie all the time--following him around.  For awhile, he listened to everything Charlie says; now, he selectively listens and follows which creates a spat between bossy Charlie and Sam!  He poops and pees on the potty several times a day, although I haven't taken the plunge to actually potty train him.  He tells me when he has to poop (but that usually means I have 30 seconds to get him to go) and even went in a public toilet too.  Just wants to be like Charlie!  And the biggest of news...Sam slept for the first night in his big boy bed on September 26th!  We built the bunk beds and Charlie moved to the top bunk...and planned on waiting to transition Sam.  While putting him in bed one night, he pointed and said "big boy bed" so we thought we'd try it...success!  As long as he has his lovey, "ba" and his paci, "suce", he is content.
The boys love their bunk beds.  We still haven't taken down the crib (insurance!) so the room is a miss-match of decor currently...although we hung bookshelves last week.  More pictures to come once we get all the furniture moved around and shelving up!
Charlie has been slowly adjusting to his new school.  We had a bumpy start, but the past few days we have gotten nothing but good reports!  He goes part time (Mon/Wed/half day Friday) while all the other kids go full time...so he gets less exposure to the French and the classroom in general.  A disadvantage I'm sure, but I wasn't ready to give him up full time (or pay the tuition!).  His best friend at school is a little girl named Eva, ironically the only one in the class who is native French, and doesn't speak any English.  The teacher told me that when Charlie sits in the class in the morning (before he is ready to play), Eva sits next to him and pats his back!  The past few days Charlie has really enjoyed going--so I hope that only continues.

The pregnancy is going well--almost 26 weeks, but who's counting :)  Baby girl flips and kicks quite frequently, and I don't have any major aches or pains.  We haven't decided on a name, although there are several that Scott and I agree on.

And that's our little update!

Exploring Indy: Anderson Orchards

The past few falls, we have gone to Tuttle's Orchards to pick apples (and pumpkins!).  We were bummed to hear that they would not do "u-pick" apples this year due to our strange weather patterns...not enough apples!   At my friend Erin's suggestion, we decided to check out Anderson Orchard and had a great time!  The orchard is much larger than Tuttles (people actually drive to the row where they want to pick)

Please ignore Sam's hand down the pants...he's trying to look like a tough dude :)
Checking out the pumpkins...way too early for us to buy as our squirrels will eat them!

Charlie is in a "no picture" mode so I don't have as many shots with him...but he was very much into picking the apples!  We also *might* have eaten a few along the way.  We finished the day with apple cider slushies (yum!)
