Doctors visits!
Both boys had doctor appointments yesterday (2 month for Sam, 2 year for Charlie) and the stats are in...
Sam is a whopping 13lbs10oz (90th percentile) and 24" (80th percentile)! I thought he'd be around 13lbs but he blew past my estimate. We have a little chunker on our hands! Doesn't that mean he should sleep through the night soon ;) Sam barely cried for his shots and didn't even fuss while the doctor examined him.
Charlie got to stand on the "big boy" scale and get measured this time...he's 28.4lbs and I think 33.5"--he actually "shrunk" a little from his appointment 4 months ago--the doctor says he usually sees regression when the child stands up versus being measured on the paper on the table. And we talked about the doctor ahead of time so he just sat in awe while the doc did his examination--no crying!
Both boys obviously healthy :)
Last night Charlie had his first "swim lesson" (parent with child--Scott did the honors) and he didn't participate much--really just wanted to play with the buckets and toys that we usually let him play with at the pool! But after everyone left, he did the motions of the songs in class, "jumped" off the wall, etc, like an old pro. So I'm hoping he'll participate more next week!

Easter Eggs and Smiling Babies...
I decided to try dying eggs with Charlie one afternoon...
We used just pink and yellow (saving the other colors for closer to Easter!)
Charlie had a blast picking the eyes and mouths for the eggs (so much fancier than when I was a kid!)

Charlie's 2nd Birthday

Happy Birthday Charlie! We had a "Mickey" party the Saturday after his birthday.

I baked the cake but Scott did all the decorating...
We forgot to take a complete picture :)

Charlie's buddies, clockwise from Charlie: Cole, Ian, Nick and Jaidyn

Nick and Jaidyn (siblings, our friends the Sweazy's)
Charlie going to town on the cake...(black icing, what were we thinking???)
Charlie opening his presents...he totally "got it" this year and loved every gift he received.
(baby Stella reaching for the wrapping paper! Nick and Jaidyn's little sister)

Sunny days, a visit from Pops, and just hanging around
Sam...how cute. Laying on his tummy apparently helps him fall asleep.
When it was warm and sunny a few weeks ago, Charlie got to eat lunch outside. Here's what I get when I say "Smile" (he's actually saying "cheese!" at the same time)

Pops came for a visit while in Indiana for business and met Sam for the first time! We didn't remember to get a picture with Charlie in it...oops.
Charlie sees Sam in my wraps all the time and really wanted to go in the mei tei so I tied him up on Scott! This lasted all of 5 minutes before the novelty wore off...
Sam in the bumbo! I have some pics of Charlie at the same age...sometimes I think they look just alike (really, chubby pumpkin heads with no necks) but other times, nothing!
