Love and Honor

Love and honor to Miami, our college old and grand...
A few weekends ago, we ventured to Oxford, Ohio, to meet up with my college girlfriends (and families) and show the boys the campus!  Two years ago when we made the trip, it was cold (as in, 45 degrees) and raining--miserable.  This year, with no rain in the forecast, it somehow rained for the first 2 hours we were in town...fortunately we had good company at Buffalo Wild Wings :)

When the rain stopped, we checked into our hotel rooms and then took off across campus.  I couldn't believe how many new/updated buildings there are since we graduated!!!  We stopped by Sigma Nu (had no desire to go in!) and then checked out Tipsy Chicks.

Stepping on the seal (I think they can afford to fail their next exam...preschool isn't very demanding)

Ava (Bethany and Ryan's baby) and Abby (Liz and Chris' baby) with the boys

Scott posing on a bike rack that he insisted on moving in front of the arches (which I made him move back after this shot was taken)
Family shot under the arches!  Miami Mergers :)
Brian and Caitlin; Bethany, Ryan and Ava
Caitlin, Bre, Megan, Bethany and Liz
Playing baseball in one of the quads

Fancy new bus stops (We had to wait in the rain...)
Charlie's actually having a dance party...in the bus stop.

My beautiful baby girl in front of the Pulley Tower (which I mistakenly called Cook Tower and confused Scott).  Cook field now has AstroTurf, which was pretty fancy.  The boys loved running around on it, and Julia was happy to be out of the stroller.

A few memorable moments from the weekend:
-Nursing Julia while walking down the street.  Gotta do what you gotta do!
-In order to catch up with the group, I picked up Sam and threw him on my shoulders.  Only to discover he had stepped in dog poop and my shirt was now covered (hence the black "wife beater" for pictures)
-Delicious dinner at Kona, kid-free thanks to Bethany's babysitter hookup
-Steinkellers.  And a waitress who claimed "People must see my one-dollar-bills and assume I'm a waitress or a stripper".  Signs pointed very much to waitress.
-Heading back to the hotel and being beckoned by Backstreet Boys and Brittany Spears playing at Skippers.  So what if we were a good 10 years older than all the other patrons.
-Bagel and Deli with the kids on our way out of town.
-Great company, of course!

So hard to believe so much time has past, if we go back in another 10 years I'm not sure we'll recognize the campus, at the rate they're remodeling and building!  And I only wish the weekend had been longer, as 24 hours is not enough time to catch up with good friends.

Take me out to the Ballgame!

We've made it to 2 Indians games the past few weeks and the boys love it!  Picnic dinners on the lawn, a little baseball, and lots of running around.  I never remember my camera anymore but these are from my phone.  Play ball!

Indy 500 Parade

While we don't typically do anything for the actual race, we always go to the 500 race.  It gets more and more fun as the boys get older; this year both boys loved the action!  We had the perfect weather (in my opinion), cool and cloudy so we weren't sitting in direct sun squinting the whole time!  Charlie has grown quite a bit since his first parade, and so has Sam!
Julia slept through some of it :)

Grandpa driving the "race car"!  Charlie was yelling "HI GRANDPA HI GRANDPA" and waving like a crazy guy; the people behind us thought dad was famous.

 Love this picture

Another fun day!  We even stayed for the whole parade this year (a mistake since it took us 40 min to get out of the parking garage...lesson learned)

Four months old!

Our beautiful baby girl is four months old already.  Several weeks ago she started sleeping 12+ hours at night, sometimes I even have to wake her in the morning to take Charlie to school!  She wakes and coos by herself until we go get her.  Last night was her first night downstairs in her big crib (she has been in the back of my closet, in the pack-n-play) and she did great, although I might have shed a tear to have her so far away :)  At the doctor's on Friday, she weighed 13lbs12oz, of which I'm sure 6 or 7oz was her cloth diaper :)  And she's 95th percentile in length--such a big girl!
