Zoo day!

A few weeks ago I met up with two of my friends, Jenny and Kristy, and their children for a playdate at the zoo.  One of our first outings without Charlie--so much easier with just 2 when you're used to 3!  Sam had a fun time tagging along with Andrew and Keane (they're both almost 4).  Jenny took all the pictures.

The baby girls played for a bit at the playground--Julia is just 3 weeks older than Lily (and are also in class together at school, as I teach with Jenny this year)

 Sam in the treehouse!
The day concluded with the normal end-of-playdate-almost-meltdowns but we escaped just in time.  Hopefully we'll do it again soon!

Indy Zoo

I'm playing "catch up" on the blog...lots of pictures to come! Last week, my Aunt Judi came in town with my cousin, Jacob (my cousin's son) and we all went to the zoo...we had perfect weather and had a great time! First stop, the aquariums.Jacob touching the sharks
(Charlie didn't want to touch them...)
Pit stop for Dip-N-Dots...Charlie cried on the first bite (I don't think he expected it to be cold!) but then ate the rest it without question :)
Charlie's favorite animal at the zoo--the giraffes! We even got to see the new baby elephant! We got there 10 minutes early and almost no one was there...but it got PACKED before the baby came out, so this was the only pic I got (and this was holding my camera up over my head while juggling a hungry Sam)We love the zoo!

The Tiger Exhibit!

A few weeks ago, the new tiger exhibit opened at the Indianapolis Zoo. The zoo hosted a special "member only" preview night, so we went down to check it out. Of course, I didn't have my camera, but we lucked out--the husband of one of my old coworkers (Shannon) was taking pictures for the Zoo!
The tiger stayed really close to the glass (I overheard someone say it's because they think the children are easy prey...but they also get fed right in that corner)
Looks like Charlie is touching the tiger!

Very cool. We'll be back again soon.
Don Reynolds took all the pictures in this post, his website is donreynoldsimaging.com
He also took the animal mother/baby pictures I have hanging in our basement.
