Because that's what an excavator does...

As previously mentioned, we have an unnatural obsession with all things construction in this household...especially excavators.  Charlie's truck of choice.  He is often seen with his hand scooped over, imitating the truck's bucket in his own imagination.
Charlie has been potty trained since June, but was having some (annoying) regressions...just forgetting to pay attention.  After a frustrating day of not one, but two accidents, I decided we had to have a new plan.  Scott pulled out the (hidden, intended Christmas present) excavator and showed it to Charlie.  We explained that he can look at it in the box, and even touch it, but cannot play with it until he has 20 accident free days.  We built a sticker chart, and he got a sticker at the end of each accident-free days.
He slipped up only a few times (I think it took 23 days to get 20 stickers) and was SO EXCITED when he finally got to open his excavator!  We even let him sleep with it that night...when we went to bed at 10:30 he was still awake in his bed, snuggling with it.

Now we're just hoping the potty training sticks :)
