Smiles from Sam!

We're finally getting some "thanks" for all the awesome parenting we've done over the past 6 weeks...Sam started smiling on cue (ok, only after he's had a big meal, awesome burp, and diaper change...) He has the most adorable smile, these pictures don't do it justice (and the bib is there to save his clothes from the projectile spit ups he is known for...not attractive in the least)
Sam's 6 weeks as I write this (although these pictures were from 4.5 weeks maybe? or 5? it all runs together). We started on a feeding schedule about 10 days ago and it's going really well so far. Sam eats roughly every 3 hours and has gradually extended out his night! At 5.5 weeks, we put him down at 10pm and he slept till 5am!!! Whoo hoo! On a normal night though, he goes down around 10, sleeps until 2 or 3, and then after eating goes right back to sleep and wakes around 6:30 or 7...so we're finally getting some sleep around here (I hope I'm not jinxing it)

During the day we're finally getting some periods where he sits and self-entertains (versus the 12 hour days of wearing him in one of my wraps...have you ever tried to clean out a freezer with a baby strapped to you? or lift your toddler in and out of highchairs/swings at the park/etc?) I LOVE it when he just sits in his bouncy seat and watches us.

Charlie is an awesome big brother. He loves "showing" Sam all of his toys, going down slides/etc so Sam can watch, and just giving Sam kisses. There really hasn't been much jealousy at all and we often talk of "when Sam gets big..." Last week at the park we made quite a scene...me with Sam strapped to my chest, wearing a backpack diaper bag, holding Charlie on my lap and going down a twisty slide. Awesome parenting, ha. I can't wait to see these two boys grow up together.
